Man (19) Arrested and Police officer hospitalised after collision in Warren Vale

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving an unmarked Police car and BMW in Warren Vale left two men in hospital

At around 9.15pm on Wednesday (March 25th) two cars, a silver Vauxhall Astra and grey BMW One Series were travelling along Warren Vale, heading towards Woodman roundabout.

On approach to the roundabout, the driver of the BMW One Series lost control and veered onto the opposite side of the carriageway into oncoming traffic before colliding with an unmarked police car.

โ€œThe police officer suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.โ€œ a police spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added โ€œThe driver of the BMW One Series, an 18-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.โ€

Both men remain in hospital in a stable condition.

โ€œThe driver of the Vauxhall Astra, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving.โ€ The spokesperson added.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time, who witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam footage that can help with enquiries. If you have any information please call 101 quoting incident number 846 of 25 March 2020.
