Investigation launched after Police car torched in Rawmarsh

Police have launched an investigation after a police car was torched in Rawmarsh on Friday.

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to Ash Grove on Friday (7th February) at 7.15pm.

The car was well alight upon arrival, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

“One breathing apparatus wearer used a hose reel to extinguish the fire”

Firefighters left around 7.40pm and the car was recovered for forensic investigation a short while after.

Police said enquiries into the fire were underway and anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 722 of February 7.
