Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A631 Bawtry Road, at Brecks last night, (21 December.)
It’s reported that at 10:50pm a blue Volkswagen Polo left the carriageway before coming to rest on its side.
A passenger from the vehicle, a 31-year-old man was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
His family are being supported by specially trained officers, a police spokesperson confirmed.
The driver of the vehicle, a 26 year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnesses the collision, or the vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage who may have been in the area at the time.
