Dog walker killed in Bawtry Road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a collision whilst walking his dog in Bramley.

Police were callled at around 5.40pm yesterday evening (12th December) after it was reported that a red Mercedes SLK travelling along Bawtry Road towards Wickersley roundabout was involved in a collision with a pedestrian and his dog.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His dog also died at the scene, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police confirmed

“His family are currently being supported by specially trained officers as our enquiries continue.”

We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, especially anyone who has dash cam footage.
