Air Ambulance called after Woman (46) critically injured in Eastwood Assault

A woman (46) is in a critical condition and a man has been arrested after a suspected assault in Eastwood last night

Police were called to a property on Lindley Street at around 7.50pm on Monday (30th December) after it was reported a 46-year-old woman had suffered a head injury.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition this morning, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene, landing in Tesco car park but the woman was transported by road ambulance. The helicopter landed at Thomas Rotherham College shortly after departing the carpark for around 20 minutes before returning to base.

“A 49-year-old man, known to the woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and remains in custody at this time”
