The annual bonfire night in Clifton Park has been cancelled due to localised flooding in areas of the park
In a statement on Clifton Parks Facebook they have said “This popular event has been delivered by Friends of Clifton Park with support from the Council for many years and we know that this will be disappointing to the many visitors who come to the display each year.”
“However with more rain forecast over the coming weeks, it is unlikely that the ground will be suitable for the bonfire or that the park would provide a safe experience for visitors due to the effects of adverse weather and waterlogged ground.”
“Our first priority is the safety of visitors to the park and as such we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.”
