A number of fire crews have spent the morning attempting to rescue a stranded horse which become stuck in the River Don.
Firefighters setup a control point from Forge Island to attempt to rescue the horse which was spotted on in the water between Rotherham Town Centre and Dalton this morning (Sunday 29th September)
Crews from Rotherham, Aston, Tankersley, Adwick were called at 8.49am and left around 11.50am
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been contacted and are yet to comment on the situation.
