Police hunt for man who exposed himself and assaulted girls in separate incidents.

Police are appealing for information after a man reportedly sexually assaulted a teenager and indecently exposed himself on two separate occasions in the Brampton on Sunday 23rd June and Saturday 29th June.

Police said the first incident is reported to have happened at around 4.30pm on Sunday (23 June) on a footpath behind Cortonwood Drive where it was reported that an 18-year-old woman who was walking along the path when a man indecently exposed himself while blocking her path.

As the woman tried to walk past him, it is reported he grabbed her clothing in the groin area. The woman then ran past him and the man walked away in the opposite direction.

The second incident is reported to have happened at around 2.30pm on Saturday (29 June) two 14-year-old girls were walking along a track between Cortonwood Drive and Wynmoor Crescent when a man started to follow them.

As the girls turned to face the man he is reported to have indecently exposed himself to them. The girls ran away from the man and he followed them for a short while, before stopping and going back the other way.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said “the suspect is described as Asian in his late 40s to early 50s, of a skinny build and around 5ft 10inches tall. He has dark grey, medium length hair with grey sideburns. In the second incident he was wearing a bright orange polo shirt with a small collar and three-quarter length dark denim shorts.”

Officers believe the incidents could be linked and are asking for anybody with information who may have seen what happened or can identify the suspect to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 603 of 23 June 2019 or 682 of 29 June 2019.
