Woman (34) dies in Maltby collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman (34) died following a collision in Maltby on Wednesday (12th June)

It was reported at around 3.40pm that a silver Mercedes C Class was travelling along the A631 (Tickhill Road) towards Maltby when it was in collision with a Scania LGV. The LGV then left the carriageway after colliding with a silver Citreon Picasso. 

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said “A 34-year-old woman, the driver of the Mercedes, was airlifted to hospital, where she sadly died as a result of her injuries this morning (13 June).”

“A 75-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, who had been travelling in the Picasso, were also taken to hospital, their injuries are not thought to be serious.”

“The 28-year-old driver of the LGV was uninjured.”

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened yesterday to contact them. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has any dashcam footage of the collision, or the moments prior to it. Contact police on 101 quoting incident number 516 of 12 June.
