Police make arrest following knifepoint lorry theft

Armed Police, dog handlers and a helicopter were called to Bawtry Road, Tinsley at around 10:20pm on Thursday (13th June)

Officers were involved in the pursuit of vehicle suspected to be carrying stolen goods

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said “the driver failed to stop upon request and the vehicle was later found abandoned nearby in the Tinsley area.

“One man was arrested on suspicion of robbery.”

Northamptonshire Police said that the incident was related to an incident on June 7th where a lorry driver was threatened at knifepoint and had his load stolen at a café.
