Tactical Support Group officers from South Yorkshire police were called to an incident on Brameld Road, Rawmarsh this afternoon (Saturday 20th April)

A spokesperson posted on the SYP Operations Facebook “3 occupants were wanted in relation to criminal matters”

“when officers attended occupants refused to leave the premises, barricaded themselves in and began to self harm.”

“They threatened to set fire to the premises should officers enter, and harm any officer coming in.”

Police forced entry to the property equipped with shields, as the occupants armed themselves with hammers.

Police “quickly and forcibly” took control of all occupants and 3 people have now been arrested and enquiries are on going.
