Knife discovered in Dalton McDonalds disturbance

Police were called to McDonald’s at Dalton to reports that a man was acting aggressively and verbally threatening staff and customers.

Police were called to the restaurant at at 12:40pm yesterday (28 March) to reports that a man was acting aggressively and verbally threatening staff and customers in the restaurant.

The man was escorted from the premises and was seen to have been carrying a weapon.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said “officers attended the scene and detained a 36-year-old man.”

“Anthony Binney of Elliott Court, Rotherham, has now been arrested and charged with possession of a bladed weapon and common assault.”

Nobody was injured the incident.

He remains in police custody.
