by Admin

A Rotherham Fire station will open its doors for homeless people who need to take shelter from the cold temperatures tonight (Friday)

The shelter will open its doors from 9pm on sub-zero nights until 7am the next day thanks to a partnership between South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Rotherham Council and Framework.

Those sleeping rough can access the service through a referral from the Homelessness Team 24/7 by ringing 01709 336009.

Arrangements will then be made for transport to the Winter Shelter.
