Police were called to Bawtry Road, Wickersley at 8.45pm yesterday (27 February) following reports that a woman had been hit by a car.
Police said that CCTV footage showed that the vehicle was heading through green traffic lights as it hit the elderly woman on the crossing, before the driver stopped immediately afterwards.
Bawtry Road was closed from Wickersley Roundabout heading towards Wickersley School during the incident.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said “the woman was taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
