Emergency services were called at around 11.50am on Tuesday (1st January) after reports that a man had been seriously assaulted outside his home in the Sunnyside area.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said “It’s reported that a 37-year-old man was assaulted outside his home suffering serious injuries.”
The man (37) was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police confirmed that one man is in custody and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation, enquiries are ongoing.
