Woman ‘threatened and tied up’ during Brinsworth burglary

A police investigation is underway after a women was threatened and tied up and threatened during a burglary in Brinsworth.

At around 3pm on Friday 7 December, it was reported that suspects entered the property on Crownhill Road, Brinsworth after knocking on the door.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said “the suspects, who are believed to have had their faces covered threatened the occupant before tying her up and searching the property.”

“The suspects then left the scene with a safe containing a quantity of cash, leaving the victim tied up.”

Police carried out house to house enquiries before examining any available CCTV footage.

Any witnesses to the burglary, or anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 515 of 7 December 2018.
