THREE Police Officers injured in ‘disturbance’ at Town Tesco

Emergency Services were called to the Central Tesco Store on Drummond Street around on Sunday (22 July) following reports of concern for a man in mental health crisis.
A Police spokesperson said that “a number of officers were required to ensure the man’s welfare and minimise the risk to himself, members of the public and to officers.”
Three police officers suffered injuries during the incident as they tried to detain to the man. These officers are now receiving support.
The man was detained later that morning and taken to a place of safety and is receiving support.
9 Police Cars, including Armed Police. Paramedics and a Fire Crew attended.
Any witnesses should call 101 quoting incident 318 22/07/2018.
